Philip Su, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, JTC Corporation
Philip Su has been Assistant Chief Executive Officer of JTC Corporation since 1 September 2001. His functional responsibilities as ACEO are to spearhead the multi-billion dollar one-north development zone, Singapore’s latest icon for the knowledge-based & creative economy into a vibrant business eco-system which combines the work-live-play-learn elements for the community & talent base; & to develop JTC’s various Business Parks into premier business & industrial centres of excellence.
Before joining JTC Corporation, Su has served in a variety of Army command, management & staff positions to include Deputy ACGS (Operations Planning), Assistant Chief of General Staff (Personnel), Chief of Artillery, Chief Guards Officer & Commander, 21st Division of the Singapore Armed Forces.
Su has been actively involved as a Director & Board Member on several Government-linked corporations & statutory boards: Singapore Technologies Aerospace, ST Logistics, Sentosa Development Corporation & National Parks Board. He graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia with a BSc (Honours Class 1) in Physics & Applied Mathematics; BSc in Economics from University of London, UK; MSc in Industrial & Systems Engineering from National University of Singapore; MS from University of Berkeley, USA; a MMAS from the US Army Command & General Staff College.
Vinu Varghese, Vice President, Corporate Finance, Macquarie Securities (Asia) Pte. Limited
Vinu Varghese is Vice President in the Corporate Finance division at Macquarie Bank based in Singapore. Vinu has been involved in a number of M&A advisory & equity capital market transactions in Asia, having been based in the regional centres of Hong Kong & Singapore for the past 8 years. Vinu has been responsible for coverage & cross border advisory work for Singapore & regional corporates for a number of years. He has led tank storage related transactions recently.
Vinu has previous investment banking experience with Merrill Lynch (Hong Kong & Mumbai). He holds an Engineering Degree & a Master of Business Administrations Degree from IIM, Calcutta, India.
Jeff Wilson, Managing Director, Synergy Downstream Solutions Pte. Ltd.
Jeff Wilson is the Managing Director of Synergy Downstream Solutions Pte. Ltd. (“Synergy”), a company registered in Singapore with representative offices in Jakarta, Indonesia. Synergy is a specialized “Total Service Solutions Company” providing market entry analysis, supply chain, infrastructure & logistics solutions, joint venture opportunities, permitting advice & related services, to International & Local Clients entering the Indonesian downstream oil & gas sector.
Prior to establishing Synergy in 2005, Jeff Wilson has worked with ICI, Monsanto & most recently the Shell Group of Companies, over a period spanning 35 years. During his career Jeff Wilson has worked in many countries & has held senior managerial & executive positions internationally. He has been heavily involved in the development, &/or implementation a broad range of downstream projects including refining, fuel product storage, supply & distribution, fuel retailing, LPG, bitumen storage & handling, chemicals manufacturing & lubricants blending.
On the business improvement & development front Jeff Wilson has conceived &/or implemented major service & supply chain improvement projects & was the instigator & a key player in enabling the Shell Group to be the first International Oil Major to successfully enter the Indonesian downstream market in 2005, post deregulation. Jeff Wilson was born in the UK in 1951 & has resided in Jakarta for the past 10 years. He is a Chartered Engineer & a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the UK. His company, Synergy, sits on the Downstream Oil & Gas Committee of the Indonesian Petroleum Association.
John Vautrain, Senior Vice President, Purvin & Gertz
John Vautrain is Director & Senior Vice President of Purvin & Gertz, Inc in Singapore. Mr. Vautrain has over twenty five years consulting experience with Purvin & Gertz including assignments in Texas, California & Singapore. Mr. Vautrain has been located full time in Singapore for seven years.
Mr. Vautrain holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Utah & a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from University of Texas.
Prior to joining Purvin & Gertz Mr. Vautrain was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company & Union Carbide Corporation in a variety of technical assignments related to petroleum refining & petrochemical manufacturing.
Mr. Vautrain consults on a wide variety of petroleum, natural gas & petrochemical related matters including development of new storage terminal capacity.
Paul E. Calderwood, Deputy Chief, Everett Fire Department
Paul Calderwood is a Deputy Fire Chief with the Everett Fire Department & is in charge of the Fire Prevention Division for the department. He has over 20 years of fire fighting experience. He has been involved with the Everett LNG facility for many years including training programs & responding to incidents involving the plant & the ships.
Jimmy Koh Chew Teck, Vice President, Head of Economic -Treasury Research, Global Treasury, United Overseas Bank, Singapore
Jimmy Koh is Vice President, Head of Economics-Treasury Research at United Overseas Bank (UOB) in Singapore. His main responsibilities include leading a team of economists in macro-economic research of both G7 & Asian emerging markets, formulating foreign exchange & interest rate trading strategies. He is also involved in regular discussions with regional central banks & the Fed, as well as multilateral agencies such as IMF & World Bank.
Stuart Traver, Principal Advisor- Downstream, Gaffney Cline & Associates
Stuart Traver is Principal Advisor – Downstream for the Asia-Pacific region at Gaffney-Cline & Associates in Singapore. Since joining GCA in 1996, he has conducted numerous assessments of oil & gas markets & analysis of investments in order to advise on the acquisition, feasibility & financing of downstream oil, petrochemical, & gas utilization projects. Stuart spent 17 years at Conoco (Dupont) where he was Manager of Business Development & Planning for Conoco’s Worldwide Downstream business unit. Stuart holds Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees in Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management.
Petra Meekers, Sustainability Manager, BioX Group Asia
Petra has a background in Biochemistry & has international experience in quality management consultancy including environmental & social impact assessments. Being in Asia since 1998, she has been involved in the implementation of ISO 9000 & 14000, OHSAS & HACCP systems for a diverse range of companies in Asia (e.g. production, food, agriculture/aquaculture & garment industry).
In her current position she is involved in the assessment of BioX’s supply base in regards to sustainable production of biomass & the verification of the supply chain
The BioX Group is an internationally recognized expert in the field of sustainable energy & is one of Europe’s largest & fastest growing suppliers of liquid biomass to the energy sector for renewable energy production, with subsidiaries & offices in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Malaysia & Singapore.

Tom Clark, President & Chief Executive Officer, Brodie Meter
Mr. Clark is the President & CEO of Brodie Meter Co., LLC, a position that he took up after organising & leading the team that acquired what is now known as the Brodie Meter Co., LLC from Emerson Process Management. Prior to making the acquisition, he was the past Vice President & General Manager for the business unit when it was called Daniel & Brooks Petroleum. Mr. Clark has a broad background in the petroleum business having been employed as Vice President of Gulf Coast Operations & General Manager of the Caribbean for Petrolane Inc. & later as the Global Director of Oil & Gas for Honeywell Industrial Automation. He has a BS degree from Michigan State University & an MBA from Bradley University.
Andrew East, Director, International Business Development, HMT
Andrew A East joined HMT back in July 1999 to actively develop the Sales & Marketing of HMT products & services in the Above Ground Storage Tank industry in the territories of Europe, Africa & the Middle East.
Prior to joining HMT, between 1993 & 1999 he has worked with Daniel Industries in the field of Fiscal Metering Systems for Oil & Gas pipelines, Terminal Automation Systems on major strategic projects in the Balkan Countries, Russia & other third country export markets.
He has an additional 12 years of Sales & Marketing experience in the Oil & Gas equipment supply industry between 1981 & 1993
He has a background in Mechanical & Production engineering & is an active member of the Institute of Directors & Institute of Export. Andrew is an active speaker at various storage tank conferences & Oil Company seminars worldwide & travels extensively for HMT in their Business Development Group
Dr Cai Jun Gang, Director of Tritech Consultants Pte Ltd, Project Director (Project Management & Technical Review of Jurong Rock Caverns), SINTEF-Tritech-Multiconsult Consortium
Dr Cai obtained MEng & PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore. He had conducted R&D work in Nanyang Technological University for 9 years, & had been involved in most of underground rock cavern projects in Singapore, such as Cavern Development in the Jurong Formation sedimentary rocks, Underground Ammunition Facility in the Bukit Timah granite, Underground Science City at Kent Ridge, & Jurong Oil/Gas Storage Caverns at the Jurong Island. He has 20 years of experiences in research & consultancy work, & published over 90 technical papers in Rock Mechanics & Rock Engineering. Dr Cai is currently the Executive Director of Tritech Consultants Pte Ltd. He is also the project director of Sintef-Tritech-Multiconsult Consortium for project management, technical review & advice for the ongoing Project of Underground Hydrocarbon Storage Rock Caverns at the Jurong Island.

Paul John Hollingsworth, CEO, Lightning Protection International Pty Ltd
Paul is a Professional Electrical Engineer with a total of 22 years industrial experience. This includes periods in the Oil & Gas industry including design & operation of FPSO facilities, & safety shutdown systems including subsea wellhead control systems.
Paul also has extensive experience in the lightning protection industry exceeding 15 years, & in the management of multidiscipline engineering teams across multiple continents.
Paul has provided input & direction to the local School of Engineering within the University of Tasmania, & sits on several local company boards in the position of director.
Paul has recently taken on the role of CEO in the rapidly growing company Lightning Protection International, which is recognised as a significant provider of lightning protection solutions in approximately 40 countries around the globe.
Richard Siereveld, Business Development Manager, Enraf
Richard Siereveld took an Electrical & Electronic Engineering BSc Degree in 1994 then joined the system-independent Industrial IT & system integration company Process Management & Control, a subsidiary of the Stork group. Richard was closely involved in the automation of the fuel supply at Schiphol airport. Other notable projects included the automation of gas & oilfield exploration & production facilities in the Netherlands.
In 2001, Richard joined ABB. He worked for ABB’s terminal automation group, providing worldwide total solutions with equipment, automation systems, software & services for transportation & distribution to manage the movement of petroleum & chemical products through pipelines, tankers & terminals; eliminate losses; & meet strict government regulations.
In 2005, Richard joined Enraf, the leading supplier of instruments, systems, solutions & services for bulk storage facilities & related operations. Within Enraf he is responsible for providing solutions dedicated to terminals leveraging from Enraf’s 50 year plus experience of supplying solutions with the world's most highly ranked precision instrumentation & software systems for bulk storage operations. It is his job to serve the terminal industry with solutions, which are the benchmark for other vendors, to run their terminal productively & profitably using the latest technology.

Warren has spent 20 years in the Process Industry working with Instrumentation & Process Automation. More recently he has been focusing on Tank Gauging Solutions within Endress+Hauser, with the core critieria into safety. He has a special interest in Fieldbus & new technologies.
Warren studied as R&D Electronics Engineer & developed into to application oriented activites after a few years. Moved to Sales & Marketing for the next 15 years. Over these years experience of living & working in USA, Switzerland, Singapore & finally in Germany has given good understanding of differences in culture & industry. Working for many companies on the way such as Emerson, Eurotherm, Honeywell & MTL. Digital communications working through Fieldbuses has always been a passion & interest. Now settled in Germany as the head of Tank Gauging developments this gives the opportunity to extend the functionality & benefits of open & rich dignaostics to the tank gauging industry.
Rob O’Brien, International Sales Manager, Mixing Solutions
Rob O’Brien, International Sales Manager for Mixing Solutions side entry mixers, has over 25 years’ experience of side entry mixers in the oil industry. He started his career as an instrument technician in the British Army before joining Plenty Mixers in 1979, first working as an applications engineer, & then progressing to contracts manager before moving into export sales in 1990.
After the de-merger of Mixing Solutions from the other activities of SPX (formerly Plenty Mixers) Rob joined Mixing Solutions in Sep 2004. His responsibility is the sales & marketing of side entry mixers to the Middle East, India & Asia, dealing with end users, consultants & contractors.
Rob will introduce to the StocExpo audience the fundamentals of side entry mixer applications, installation, operation & selection criteria & how Mixing Solutions is using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to assist in providing the optimum solution to mixing requirements.
Michael Stelmach, Vice President-Sales, Mascoat Products
Michael Stelmach began working in the industrial sector starting in October 1996, working with many types of insulation, fireproofing, paints/coatings & scaffolding. In 2000, shortly after being introduced to the technology of ceramic insulating coating, he began incorporating the technology into the business plan of the company he was working with at the time. In 2003, he was hired by Mascoat Products as industrial sales/technical manager, eventually reaching his current level of Vice President of Sales. Over the course of his tenure at Mascoat Products, he has helped develop & oversee the installation of Mascoat’s coatings in over 17 countries, all the while promoting & educating the industry on ceramic insulating coatings.

Ties Mulder, CEO & Commercial Director, Carbovac Environmental Services
Ties Mulder is a Mechanical & Process engineer (he has two specialities). He has 25 years experience in the field of gas effluent treatment mostly in absorption systems. He launched Symex VRU department in 1995, & in 2005 he decided, with his colleague Mr Walter, to launch his own company, CarboVac, specializing in Vapour Recovery Units.
