Westway to speak at Tank Storage Canada expo & conference
Michel Gingras, regional manager for Westway Terminal Canada is the latest speaker to confirm his participation at the upcoming Tank Storage Canada expo & conference in Calgary, Alberta on 28-29th September.
Canada has been ranked as the fourth top emerging oil storage provider, which might explain the vast interest in storage activities and growth in the region.
Alberta refinery’s capacity alone is 422,000 b/d and although the economy has hit several projects over the past year expansions are expected to continue as the market, and oil prices, picks up.
By 2013 up to 12 projects are anticipated and with these developments comes an added need for infrastructure. Gingras will be speaking on Westway’s activities in Canada as well as sharing his experiences on what makes a successful terminal operator in the region.
There are already over 150 terminal operators in Alberta including the likes of Husky Energy, Gibson, CCS and Newalta, making this location perfect for this year’s event.
Tank Storage Canada expo & conference, now in its second year and organised by leading global publication Tank Storage magazine, will bring together storage terminal operators, oil majors, traders, biofuel producers and equipment suppliers to discuss the market’s outlook, growth plans, unique challenges of working in Canada and best safety practices.
Other key speakers at the event include Lawrence Waldron, General manager, Vopak North America, Martyn Lyons, Managing Director, Simon Storage, Richard Kellaway, Senior Advisor, Global Infrastructure Partners, John Cornell, API trainer Storage Tanks Specialist, G.S. Raghavan, Manager Marketing & Trading, Cylingas Company and many more.
As an added benefit to exhibitors and delegates, the event is co-hosted with Bioenergy International Canada expo & conference, giving attendees an insight into biofuels blending, storing and handling as well as Canada’s potential to grow in the renewable energy sector.
